MCR STREET JAM 2015

Less than 1 week to go until Alex Burston & Jam‘s next MCR Street Jam and the prizes are starting to pile up! Riders hotels/trains/flights are booked and I’ve aquired as much sleeping space and quilts as possible, next weekend is going to be crowed but eventful in our little flat, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! Love being blade mum.

The Jam will be kicking at Manchester’s famous Castlefield Arena in MCR from around 12pm this Saturday 19th September. This year we have international riders including Yuri Botelho, Dave Mutschall, James Bower, Dan Collins, James Keyte, Dan Gorman and many more attending.

The event will have jams for 16 and under’s and the open/expert jam. Entry fee to compete will be £5 for the 16 and under jam and £10 for the open/expert jam.

Everyone who enters will get a prize, if it be a set of wheels, T-shirts, stickers, bearings, hats or booze (for over 18’s only). Castlefield arena is a public space which is family friendly; so bring your dogs, kids and whatever else! Good vibes only.

DIRECTIONS:

The closest train station is Deansgate or G-Mexx tram stop, it’s a few minutes walk from either of these. You can get a tram from Picadilly/Victoria stations and pretty much anywhere in the city centre.
Just look for the huge Hilton building and head down Liverpool Street. You’ll see the YMCA Gym on your left, that’s Castlefield Arena!

ACCOMODATION:

A few suggested places..

Hatters Hostel Manchester in Northern Quarter (Free Breakfast and Wifi – 15 min skate from Castlefield) http://hattershostels.com/manchester-hilton-chambers/

YHA Manchester Hostel Castlefield (right next to the event) http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/manchester

Manchester Walkabout Hotel (5mins skate from event) http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Walkabout/Manchester/44182.
The city is fairly easy to navigate by foot, skates or taxis, after the event the over 18s are going out for the after party, which will be at Terrace in the Northern Quarter for pre drinks and private area, then onto Manchester infamous SWING TING at Soup Kitchen… More info on Saturday.

“A JAM FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE”

Anyone who is arriving before Saturday – there is a Art/Skate/FREE booze ting going down at Chambrrs skate shop in Stockport from around 6pm. Get down!
